Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about the project, how it works, and how to support it.

UFOBuster is a crowd-funded project to build a ground-based device that autonomously detects, tracks, photographs, and collects telemetry data on objects in the sky and near-Earth space. It uses motion extraction, ray casting, and voxelization to identify and characterize anything that moves overhead.

The device employs three core technologies. Motion extraction isolates moving objects from the static sky background using frame-by-frame differential analysis. Ray casting then projects geometric rays from the device through the detected pixel coordinates to determine angular position and trajectory. Finally, voxelization divides the observable volume into a 3D grid for precise position estimation, velocity computation, and size approximation.

Every dollar is tracked on our Transparency page. Funds are used for component procurement, fabrication, software development, hosting, and operational expenses. You can see a full itemized breakdown at any time.

One-time donations support the project with a single contribution of any amount and do not require an account. Subscriptions are monthly recurring payments that unlock tiered rewards including detailed progress reports, data access, media licensing, and project voting rights.

Yes. When making a one-time donation, you can choose to remain anonymous. Your name will not appear on any public list. Subscriptions are tied to user accounts but your name is not displayed publicly unless you choose to enable it.

We accept payments through Stripe (credit/debit cards) and PayPal. All transactions are processed securely through these providers — UFOBuster never stores your payment details.

Yes, you can cancel at any time from your Dashboard. Your tier access will remain active until the end of your current billing period.

A receipt is sent to the email address you provide for every donation and subscription payment. Please consult a tax professional regarding deductibility, as UFOBuster is not currently registered as a nonprofit organization.

Our Roadmap page outlines the current timeline and project phases. We provide regular progress updates as milestones are reached.

Visit our Sponsors page to submit an inquiry form. We welcome financial sponsorship, component donations, fabrication services, and technical expertise. You can also email us directly.

Processed data, imagery, and videos will be made available according to subscription tiers. Analyst tier and above receive access to raw telemetry data. Mission Control and Founder tier subscribers receive commercial-use licensing for all media.

UFOBuster is operated transparently with community input. Mission Control and Founder tier subscribers can vote on feature priorities and project direction through periodic polls.
